About Me

Dena Michnowich

*SESSIONS VIA PHONE AND VIDEO CHAT ARE AVAILABLE to help cope with Anxiety and Stress, depression, relationship difficulties, negative self image and self criticism, trauma, life transitions and loss of a loved one. My primary treatment approach is rooted in the belief that the relationship one forms with a therapist can foster profound healing and growth. My clients report that through our work together they experience decreased symptoms, an increased sense of well-being, and a more expansive perception of the possibilities in their lives. I am LGBTQ affirming and welcome clients who want to discuss sexuality and gender.

I am influenced by psychodynamic, existential and trauma recovery theories, and the latest research in neuroscience. I am also influenced by eastern philosophy and am trained in DBT and mindfulness meditation, which I teach my clients to help build self awareness and tools to cope with anxiety and distress.

Therapy can and will help once you engage in the process, build a therapeutic relationship and work towards healing. After explaining what it is you’d like to work on we will set treatment goals and objectives so we have a framework for our discussions.
